Margaret Ann Shotts, 68, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Springfield, IL passed away 9:30 PM Friday, July 17, 2015 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN.
She was retired from the State of Illinois Office of the Comptroller at Springfield, IL. She enjoyed retirement and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for bringing a smile to all who knew her.
Ann was born August 9, 1946 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Arthur Shotts and Rose Marie Fetters Shotts.
Surviving are a sister, Shirley (Julian) Irby of Springfield, IL; two brothers, John Shotts of Marshall, IL and James (Lena) Shotts of Rochester, IL; nieces and nephews, Kaylee Shotts, Teresa Joslin, Tim Shotts and Robert Irby; great nieces and nephews, Malin Irby, Finn Irby, James Joslin and Josephine Joslin and two cousins, Kay Goble and Pat Mozley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph Irby.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Marshall. A graduate of Marshall High School, she always enjoyed attending Illini sporting events.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Augustine Koomson as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with a Liturgical Wake service at 4:00 PM Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Me Clifford, American Diabetes Association or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
