Marilyn Kay Wilson McMahon, 74, of Plainfield, IN, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away 2:45 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at her home.
She was born June 22, 1940 at Marshall, IL, the daughter of Harvey Wilson and Allie Marie Burkett Wilson. Surviving are her husband, Bob McMahon of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Tatyana (Scott) Turner of West Terre Haute, IN, Dawn Farris of Plainfield, IN, Robin Crumpacker of Brownsburg, IN; a son, Joseph Allen Ivy of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Brian (Kristin) Turner, Brandon "Bear" Turner, Lizabella (Chris) Crumpacker, Chance Crumpacker, Devin Farris, Jacob Farris; great grandchildren, Hayden Turner, Brailey Turner, Declan Turner and Abigail Akers; brothers, Jim (Susie) Wilson, Rex (Eleanor) Wilson, Dwight (Nancy) Wilson, Mike (Qingbo) Wilson, Bob (Frances) Kraemer; a sister, Lois Brosman; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Ivy Jr., step-mother, Naomi Wilson; brother and his wife, Don and Lura Wilson; sisters, Linda Arnold, Louise Hendrix and June Chadwick.
Kay loved her family and friends. She loved to cook, especially Carmel Dumplings and also loved writing poetry. Kay had the gift of gab and didn't know a stranger and helping others came easy to her. She loved going to Lincoln Trail Park and loved to camp. She was a member of the Five Points Christian Church where she had perfect attendance until the age of 17. A 1958 graduate of Marshall High School she went on to earn her Associates Degree in Accounting from Lakeland College. She was also a member of the National Poets Society.
Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home at Marshall with Bro. Larry Morecraft officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
