Marilyn Jane Jensen, 83, of Marshall, IL died Friday January 29th, 2021 at 10:40 PM at Paris Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Andrew Jensen; a son/daughter-in-law, Steven Lawrence and LuAnn (Pearson) Jensen; daughter/son-in-law, Joanna Jane and Kevin Lee Knoepfel; four grandchildren, Andrew Theodore Jensen, Jenny Irene (Knoepfel) Burke; Sarah Marie Jensen and Hans William Knoepfel . She is also survived by her sister Carole Beth (Stephen) Arney of Marshall. Marilyn Jane Jensen was born May 30, 1937, in Bullskin. She was the daughter of Lawrence Bubeck “L.B.” Lewis and Mildred S. (Irwin) Lewis. She married Kenneth Andrew Jensen on Sept. 1, 1957 at First United Methodist Church in Marshall. She was a 1955 graduate of Marshall High School where she participated in band and was a cheerleader. Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marshall. She was a graduate of the Marshall High School 1955 and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall. While in high school, she was a member of the band and a cheerleader. Marilyn’s first job out of school was working with Dr. Illyes as an assistant and helped set up the first X-Ray system in Marshall. She also worked as a switchboard operator in Marshall. She worked with her Dad at Brilliant Bronze Service Station and an attendant. Mrs. Jensen was an expert homemaker, an avid gardener and horticulturalist. She enjoyed her flowers and growing food in the garden. Her treasured flowers were orchids and african violets. Every room in her home was an oxygen producing testament to her green thumb. She retired from the Capron State Bank where she was the Vice President. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00, May 1st with a funeral service at 11:00 at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall.
