Marshall E. Forren, 85, of Marshall, IL passed away 5:45 AM Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side. For many years Marshall was a meat cutter having owned and operated Marshall’s Grocery in Marshall and Marshall’s Market at Hutsonville. Following his retirement from grocery retail he worked at the NAPA auto parts at Paris. Marshall was born Dec. 21, 1931 at Camargo, IL, the son of Marshall W. and Irma Irene Tate Forren. He married Wanda Grissom on Sept. 17, 1949. Surviving are his wife, Wanda; a daughter, Brenda (Dave) Hoehn of Chocowinity, NC; grandchildren, Carrie (Todd) Everette of Greenville, NC; great grandchildren, Carson Everette, Cocine Everette, Camryn Everette, Colin Gard, Mason Gard, Gavin Gard, Quinn Gard and Carrigan Gard; a step sister, Mary Burk of Greencastle, IN; two brother-in-law, John (Garnett) Grissom and Leonard Cheely and two sisters-in-law, Pat Gray and Karen (Larry) Stayton. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Forren; a daughter, Marsha Lynn Forren; a grandson, Chad Gard and two infant brothers, Bobby Dale and Raymond. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He had served as Treasurer for the City of Marshall, had been a member of the Jaycees and was very involved in the community. He was a true and loyal Marshall Lions Fan and was liked by all who knew him. Services in honor of his life will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Allerton, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
