Michael T. Hendrix, 68, of Marshall, IL passed away 12:33 AM Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 surrounded by his family in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN where he had been admitted a few hours earlier. He was former co-owner of United Utilities and later retired from Miller Pipline Co. and farming. Mike was born April 3, 1950 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Edgar Dean and Bettie J. Wallace Hendrix. He married Linda L. Beltz on July 30, 1971 at the Marshall First Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda; three sons, Jason (Melissa) Hendrix, Jeremy (Barbara) Hendrix and Justin (Melanie) Hendrix all of Marshall; grandchildren, Dylan, Alaina, Kason, Ashlyn, Logan, Kennedy, Ella, Ethan and Easton; step grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hunter; sister, Susie (David) Dill of Marshall; sisters-in-law, Connie (Larry) Wells of Marshall and Lisa (Steve) Gentry of Seymour, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Doris and Dudley Beltz. He was a faithful member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church where he had served on many committees. He was also a member of Local #841 and was a 1968 graduate of Martinsville High School. Mike served his country in the US Marines during the VietNam War from 1968 to 1972 where he earned the rank of SGT. He was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded. He was a member of Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion, VFW Post #5975 and the DAV. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Penn officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
