Norma Faye Higginbotham Wilhoit, 92, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:00 PM on January 2, 2024. She was born, January 18, 1931 in Clark County, IL, the daughter of Harry and Bertha Ledermann Higginbotham. She married Maurice G. Wilhoit on May 14, 1955 at Flat Rock, IL and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2000. Surviving are her children, Edward (Phyllis) Wilhoit of West Union, IL, Terre (Tina) Wilhoit and Gina (Karl) Ellshoff both of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Tara (Ryan) D’Arcy of Greenville, IL, Torry (Ashlee) Wilhoit of Monticello, IL, Katrina Ellshoff, Cody (Katie) Ellshoff of Marshall, IL; a granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Wilhoit of Brazil, IN; great grandchildren, Vera, Lillian and Oliver D’Arcy, Amelia and Sophia Wilhoit and Emma & Everett Ellshoff and a sister, Marjorie Moran of Romeoville, IL. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Wilhoit; brothers, Woodrow, Eugene, Russell and Gerald Higginbotham and sisters, Ethel Higginbotham, Betty Higginbotham, Eleanor Barkalow and Doris Jenkins. Norma had been a telephone operator. She had also worked at JoAnn Fabrics, Hucks and Walmart. She also decorated cakes and she liked to cook, sew, paint and garden. Norma had also been a 4-H Club leader and she had enjoyed participating with the Singing Sams, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids. Her church affiliation was with the Five Points Christian Church. Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, rural West Union, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
