Norma Jean Nash, “Cookie” to all who knew her, peacefully passed away at 1:25 A.M. (EST) on November 19, 2020 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. Cookie was born April 11, 1933, to Ruth Burns McClarey and Walter McClarey. She was the youngest of their seven children. She married David Ritter Nash on September 16, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. During their 47 years together, they had a lot of fun. They enjoyed spending time with their family and many close friends, boating, motorcycle riding, camping and taking vacations. Cookie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she devoted he life to caring for her family. She maintained a warm and inviting home, and she made everyone who entered feel welcome. Surviving are her two sons, David (Lois) Nash and Steve (Julie) Nash both of Marshall, IL; four grandchildren, Michael Nash of Marshall, IL, Kristin (Joe) Hancock of Evansville, IN, Katelyn Macke of Marshall, IL and Brandon (Ashley) Nash of Mahomet, IL; four great granddaughters, Averie and Callie Hancock and Kinley and Presley Nash; one two nieces, Shelly (Bob) Garner and Betty Baker and three great nieces and their families. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lela, Lila, Roy, Chester, Lottie, Glen and Norma. A walk through visitation in her honor and respect to her family will be 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home. Covid 19 guidelines will be followed. A private funeral services will be Monday with burial following in the Marshall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Cemetery Association.
