Opal Fay Blair, 77, of Marshall, IL passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN with family by her side. She was born April 21, 1944 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Rosetta Coleman Philippi. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, two sisters and two children, Linda Lewis and Max Brenner. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Dennis Blair; three daughters, Cathy (Richard) Bracken of Marshall, IL, Nina Beasley of Decatur, IL and Vannessa Brenner of Marshall, IL; seven step-sons, one step daughter, over a hundred grandchildren and a brother, Junior Philippi of Lerna, IL. She worked for Quality Housing as a manager for 31 years, She received an award for Site Manager of the Year in 2014 for family housing in the state of IL. Opal was a member of the Marshall VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She will always be remembered for her kindness and how her smile always made you feel like at home and the amazing way she loved and took care of her family. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She enjoyed her coffee, her roses, flowers, her cats and she loved camping and hunting. She will be missed and loved always. Services in honor of her life will be 7:00 PM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM prior the service. Cremation will follow with burial being in the Livingston Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
