Paul Dean Blockinger, 85, of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Paris Health and Rehab Center in Paris, IL. He was a retired farmer and was born on the Blockinger family farm in Darwin Township, the son of William Austin and Fairy Lichtenberger Blockinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Rosamond (Herbert) Osman. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn (Tom) Dunn of Paris, IL and seven nieces and nephews. He was never married and lived his entire life on the farm, except for two years of peacetime military service (mostly in Germany) in the Army. He attended the Washington one room school, next door to his home, before graduating from Marshall High School in 1953. Public graveside services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Marshall Cemetery with Rev. Judy Williams officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Clark Co. Post #90 of the American legion and VFW Post #5975. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Public Library.
