Paul Allen Thornsburg, 91, of Marshall, IL passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 in the Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall. He was a retired farmer who loved his occupation and the land where he made his living. The only son of Charles and Margaret Lucille Cork Thornsburg, he was born Sept. 20, 1926 in Clark Co., IL. He married Margaret Tate who preceded him in death on May 19, 2009. Surviving are two daughters, Paula (Joseph) Skaff of Streator, IL and Cheryl Nadler of Dieterich, IL; two grandchildren, Christina Agurcia of Honduras and Kimberly Johnson of Olatha, Kansas and great grandchildren, Nathan Agurcia and Zachary Agurcia. In addition to his wife and parents, we was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale Nadler. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall where he was an elder and the Sunday School Treasurer. He was a member of the Clark County Farm Bureau. Paul served this nation in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Shaw Chapel of Burnsides Community Health Center. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion and VFW Post #5975. Visitation will be one-hour prior services.
