Paul E. Joab, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:28 PM Thursday, August 20, 2020 in the Gibson Family Hospice at Terre Haute, IN. He was a retired farmer and had served this nation in the US Army. Paul was born Aug. 6, 1939 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Paul R. and Virginia Stoelting Joab who preceded him in death as well as a brother, Robert and a brother-in-law, Richard Mail. He married Judith A. Shonk on Dec. 29, 1962 and she survivies. Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Mike) Myers of Marshall, IL and Melinda Jewell of Peru, IN; grandchildren, Monica Joab, Blaine Shumaker, Brittany Williams, Tiffany Williams, Shawn Jewell , Zachary Jewell andTyler Myers; a great grandchild, Mariah Joab; a brother, Jerry Joab of Marshall, IL; a sister, Betty Mail of Marshall, IL and a sister-in-law, Mary Joab of Terre Haute, IN. He was a devoted supporter of 4-H, helped in the construction of the Clark Co. Extension building and had served on the Clark County Conservation Committee. He attended the University of Illinois prior to his military service where he served in Germany. He was a 1957 graduate of Marshall High School. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. State of Illinois Covid 19 Guidelines will be in place.
