Randy Lee Shiflett, 57, of Dennison, IL, passed away in the comfort of his home on March 18, 2025. He was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on May 23, 1967 to Harold Bruce Shiflett and Sharon Rose Davis (Felkner). Randy retired in 2017 from Federal Correctional Institution El Reno, Oklahoma where he retired as a Lieutenant. Prior, he served at Federal Correctional Complex, Terre Haute, IN. During his tenure with the Bureau of Prisons, he was a sniper on the S.O.R.T. and a firearms instructor. He served in the Navy and served the community of Fairbanks, Indiana with the fire department and as an EMT. Randy was preceded in death by his father and brother, Robert Bruce Shiflett (Jacqueline). He is survived by his spouse of 12 married years, Peggy A. Shiflett (Sweitzer), his 2 children, Robert Mark (Kerisa) of Fishers, IN and Tara of Detroit, MI, 4 step-sons, Andy (Summer), Brandon, Tyler, and Cody and 7 grandchildren, Madison, Ainsley, Chloe, Baker, Raya, Savannah, and Chris. Randy was an avid sports fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and various side business projects. He is described by his family and friends as loyal, loving, giving, stubborn, vibrant and chatty. Visitation will be 2-5 PM CST Sunday, March 23rd at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, IL with a service in his honor at 5:00 PM with Pastor Bill Wiggs. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM CST Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Sweitzer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military graveside rites.
