Reba F. Kallansa, 71, of Brazil, IN, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away 7:37 PM Friday, August 9, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. She was a legal secretary having worked for many legal offices in the Wabash Valley and also Indianapolis. She was born October 28, 1941 at Marshall, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents Milo E. Collier and Nancy Katherine Bishop Collier and two brothers, Robert and Charles Lee "Sonny" Griffin. Surviving are two sons, Robert Kallansa and Milo Kallansa both of Brazil, IN; a grandson, Auston K. Kallansa and Charles R. Kallansa. She was a graduate of Marshall High School and attended UCLA, Irvine, CA campus. She had written and had published many short stories in various magazines. Reba had won several awards for her secretarial skills and was very well known for her legal secretarial skills. She had at one time been employed by Senator Jack Makin. Services in honor of her life will be 10:00 AM (IL Time) at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, IL. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Monday and 7:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
