Rebecca J. “Becky” Clements, 73, of Marshall, IL passed away at 3:13 AM Sunday, February 1, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.Becky was born on March 22, 1952, in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Paul R. and Betty Ball Dean. She married Charles William Clements on December 18, 1971, in Terre Haute; he preceded her in death on June 10, 2001. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Mike Love and Brad Rukes. Surviving are two sons, William Christopher (Beatriz) Clements of Landstuhl, Germany and Matthew Adam (Cori) Clements of Highland, IL; six grandchildren, David, Logan, Elena, Grayson, Lawson, and Corbin Clements; two sisters, Patty Love of Seelyville, IN and Ruth Rukes of Bridgeton, IN; a sister-n-law, Amy (Kirk) Freeman of Evansville, IN; and several nieces and nephews, including Sara Smith, Josie Love, Andy and Jason Freeman, and Emily Fenwick. Becky was a retired teacher who remained very active in her church and deeply enjoyed being involved in groups and organizations. She was a faithful member of Trinity Methodist Church in Marshall, where she served in various roles throughout the years. After graduating from Garfield High School in Terre Haute, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education and later her master’s degree in Special Education from Indiana State University. For more than thirty years, she taught children with special needs and learning differences at the elementary and junior high levels in the Marshall school district and also stepped in to coach high school softball and volleyball when needed. Becky was active in the Marshall Women’s Club, the Marshall PTA—where she served as president—and the National Road Quilt Guild. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Terre Haute and was also a past honored queen of Job’s Daughters, Bethel #79. Services in honor of Becky’s life will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, February 7th at Trinity Methodist Church in Marshall, with Pastor Lance Leeds officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
