Ronda I. Parker, 60, of Marshall, IL passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2021 at her home. Ronda was born in Terre Haute, IN on July 1, 1961, the daughter of Ronald D. Deisher and Thelma D. Heath Deisher. Ronda grew up in Darwin, IL and was proud to be called a “River Rat”. After her graduation from Marshall High School she enrolled at Indiana State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree. In 1985 Ronda began her career with the U.S. Postal Service starting out as a city mail carrier in Marshall. She held numerous positions within the U.S.P.S. including Human Resource Secretary, Account Represenative, Postmaster at Center Point, IN, Postmaster at Greenup, IL and Postmaster at Martinsville, IL and she retired after 30 years of service. Ronda had two passions, travel and cats. Two of her favorite destinations were Greece and the Caribbean Islands. She often said there wasn’t a beach she didn’t like. And at her passing she was caretaker of her four babies, Sam-Sam, Blackie, Lil Yellow and Buddy. Ronda was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma; her baby brother, James R. Deisher; her favorite aunt, Mary Black and her best friend, Doris Richardson. She is survived by her father, Ronald and step-mother, Gracie Deisher; brothers, Ronnie (Beth) Deisher and Donnie (Becky) Deisher; special friend of many years, Brad Parker and many nieces, nephews and step-sisters. Per her request, there will be no public service and those wishing to express their love and respect for Ronda may contribute to the Humane Shelter of their choice.
