Rosa Mae Hamilton, 90, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:10 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Burnsides Community Care Center at Marshall. She had formerly worked at the TRW facility in Marshall and was the former owner and operator of Rosie's Good As New Shop in Marshall. She was born June 13, 1923 in Anderson Twp., Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Herman Dean Spittler and Sara Kile Spittler. She married Harold R. Hamilton on Dec. 26, 1941 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 2013. Surviving are a son, Gene Hamilton of Paris, IL; a daughter, Sharon (Jerry) Raisner of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Ben (Yola) Taylor, Eric (Monica) Hamilton, Chad Hamilton and Jason (Tyra) Raisner; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Mopsey. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Faye Miller and Virginia Knowles and three brothers, Earl Spittler, H.D. "Junior" Spittler and Roy Spittler. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall where she volunteered in many different activities. She served as chaplain for the Marshall VFW Auxiliary, enjoyed cooking Sunday meals for her family and was a lover of dogs. Services in honor of her life will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Bro. John Cutshall officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
