Rosemarie “Peasy” Stoelting (Age 94) Rosemarie Stoelting, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2026 in Springfield, Illinois surrounded by close family. Born in her family home (second house past Grand Turn) on November 25th, 1931, in Marshall Illinois, Rosemarie lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, devotion, faith, and strength. She was known for her love of the Lord, mothering to all, service to others, and her thoughtfulness, which was showcased by sending hundreds of cards to friends and family. She was not known for her housekeeping, cooking, or sewing.Throughout her life, Rosemarie enjoyed playing the piano (she took lessons until she was 90 years old), traveling, gardening, reading, watching Hallmark TV, feeding the birds, going to the Indianapolis Colts games with her friend Frank, playing cards with her lady friends and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall, IL. In 2002, Rosemarie moved to Springfield, Illinois to be closer to her daughter and became very active at both Laurel and Douglas Avenue Methodist Churches. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Marie (Schaefer) Abel, her brothers Donald and Raymond (Bud) Abel, her son Chris Stoelting, and her grandson Christopher Stoelting. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Stoelting (Dianne), sons Curt (Cathy), and Kevin Stoelting, her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren (one on the way), five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply. A memorial service to celebrate Rosemarie’s life will be held on Tuesday April 21st at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, Illinois. Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation from 12:00pm-2:00pm. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm with the burial at Marshall Cemetery to follow.
