Russell E. "Bud" Sutton Jr., 86, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Burnsides Community Care Center at Marshall. He retired from the Illinois Cereal Mills at Paris in 1990 and retired from farming in 2002. He was born January 1, 1928 at Redmon, IL, the son of Russell E. and Ruth Lowry Sutton. He married Avis Malcom on October 12, 1952 at Paris, IL. Surviving are his wife, Avis; his children, Candace Sutton of Redmon, IL, Dale (Judy) Sutton of Paris, IL, Chris (Ed) Trover of St. Bernice, IN, Jerry (Margaret) Sutton of Marshall, IL, Cheryl Sutton of Redmon, IL and Jim (Lesa) Sutton of Marshall, IL; a daughter-in-law, Katie Sutton of Terre Haute, IN; his siblings, Norma Darnell of Marshall, IL, Paul (Joyce) Sutton of Marshall, IL, Harold (Phyllis) Sutton of Paris, IL, Duane Sutton of Malvern, Arkansas and Kaye (Dalane) Garver of Madison, Alabama; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Marty Darnell. He was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony Sutton and Robert Sutton and a grandson, Jason Sutton. He was a member of the Oliver United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge at Paris and the Shrine Temple at Springfield, IL. Throughout the years he was a very accomplished pool player, enjoyed playing with his friends and had played in many tournaments. He served this nation in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post #5975 and Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. Services in honor of his life will be 1:00 PM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastor Bill Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery, rural Edgar Co., IL. with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #5975 and Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. Visitation will be 2-6 PM Sunday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Oliver United Methodist Church.
