Ruth V. Benjamin, 109, of Marshall, IL formerly of Terre Haute, IN passed away 1:50 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute. She was retired from Quaker Maid as a supervisor after 42 years of service. Ruth was born Jan. 17, 1908 in Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Andrew and Eva Joy Wyrick. She married Harold Benjamin on Jan. 3, 1927 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1971. Surviving are a nephew, John (Etta) Wyrick; several great nieces and nephews, including Brenda Kay (David) Belt and Suzette (Tim) Kimmel; several great great nieces and nephews, including Derek Belt, Brigett Belt, Justin (Caroline Diamond-fiancee") Kimmel and Brittany (Joel) Stubblefield and a great great great nephew, Nolan Stubblefield. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hurley Wyrick, Hubert Wyrick and Quincy Wyrick; a twin sister, Naomi Wyrick and Marie Farris. She was a member of the Maplewood Christian Church of Terre Haute, Ladies of the Moose Auxiliary and volunteered at the Sr. Citzens Center of Terre Haute from 1965 to 1990. She loved cooking, reading, gardening and working with her flowers. Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 Noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
