Sharon L. Welliver, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at her home. She was born June 23, 1944 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of William Douglas and Gloria High Collins. She was married to Larry Welliver who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Welliver and a sister, Margaret Collins. Surviving are a son, John Welliver of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Jennifer Welliver of Marshall, IL; a sister, Beverly (Danny) Lindsey of West Terre Haute, IN; a brother, Douglas (Bev) Collins of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews Daniel Lindsey, Katie Lindsey, Linnea Collins, William Collins and Douglas Collins. Sharon was a licensed pastor of the United Methodist Church and had served as pastor of the Oliver United Methodist Church and the Asbury United Methodist Church as well as filling in at several United Methodist Churches. She was a 1962 graduate of the former Garfield High School and later graduated from the Indiana State University School of Nursing in 1965. Sharon had served in the cardiac care divisions of Northwestern, Houston Methodist and Union Hospitals prior to raising her family. For many years, Sharon was a Girl Scout Leader in the Marshall community and had volunteered at the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and following the Chicago Cubs and attending Rex Baseball games in Terre Haute with her daughter. Private graveside services will be held at the Dunlap Cemetery, rural Dennison, IL. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Public Library.
