Tanner L. Carpenter, 23, of Marshall, IL passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 in Vigo Co., IN from the results of an automobile accident. He was a graduate of Indiana State University and was currently working on his Master’s Degree. He was employed at Charley’s Pub and Grub at Terre Haute. Tanner was born April 21, 1997 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Henry and Tammy Sherrill Carpenter. Surviving are his parents of Marshall; a brother, Trey (Kassie) Carpenter of Normal, IL; his grandmother, Carol Sherrill; a half sister, Brandy Lackey of TN; a nephew, Cash Carpenter; his cat, Tebow and aunts and uncles, Mike (Mary) Wheeler, Mike (Jill ) Sherrill, Scott Sherrill and Helen Carpenter and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bud and Helen Carpenter and Doug Sherrill. He loved fishing, golf, bowling and was a gamer. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles and Ed Carpenter’s Racing Team fan. But one thing he was so proud of was his is red 2005 Mustang. He will always be remembered for his work ethic and his friendship with others. Private services in honor of his life will be Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with a public graveside service being held 2:45 CST Sunday in the Auburn Cemetery, rural Marshall. A public walk through visitation will be 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home.
