Terrance “Terry” Stephen, 76, of Marshall, IL passed away 5:23 PM Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 in the Gibson Family Center For Hospice Care at Terre Haute, IN. Terry was born Aug. 9, 1945 at Boswell, IN, the son Wayne and Hilda Chastain Stephen who preceded him
in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Reggie Stephen and Eric Lynn Stephen. Surviving is his companion of several years, Carolyn Scott; a daughter, Angie (Tony Martinez) Stephen of Singapore; a son, Ryan Stephen of
Marshall; grandchildren, Desyn Martinez, Gavyn Martinez, Joryn Martinez, Bella Stephen and Kailei Stephen; a special buddy in his life, Cameron Scott; a brother, Dennis (Mickey) Stephen and nieces and nephews. He attended Indiana State University where he
received a BS Degree in Industrial Tech & Education. He moved to Marshall where he taught for five years. He attended night and summer school getting his MD after 3 years. In 1975 he bought into Eitel Dutch Center at Marshall and 7 years later purchased the
entire business. He also started a construction company in the Marshall area and provided services throughout the Wabash Valley. During the next ten years, Terry built and managed
250 rental units and ran the business for over 30 years. He later sold the material business and part of the apartment complexes. The apartment complexes were in both Illinois and Florida. Terry will always be remembered for his work ethic. He truly loved to
work and employed many people in the community and giving many of them an opportunity to prove their capabilities. He was always willing to volunteer his time and services to his community and truly loved being with others throughout the community sharing
stories and picking up on “small town” wisdom. Terry never met a stranger and continued his friendships with others until the very end. Services in honor of his life will be 4:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 29th at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation with family
present will be 4-7 PM Friday night at the funeral home. Friends are also invited to call at the funeral home from 7:00 AM Saturday until service time to sign the guest book. Inurnment will be in the Marshall Cemetery at a later date. For those desiring, memorial
