Tiffany Bair Macke, 58 of Marshall, Illinois passed away on Thursday February 5th, 2026 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute Indiana, family by her side. She was born in Danville Indiana on May 13, 1967, the daughter of William and Marilyn (Martin) Bair. She is survived by her husband Brian, to whom she was married on December 5th, 1992, son Benjamin, daughter Dana Sanders, son-in-law Ryan Sanders and Grandsons Layton and Callum Sanders, as well as her father and stepmother Kyle Bair. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother and two infant grandsons, Baker Sanders and Mason Sanders.Tiffany grew up and graduated High School in Danville, Indiana where she played basketball, was a cheerleader, and was elected homecoming queen (a fact that seemed to embarrass her slightly). She maintained friendships with many classmates to her last days. She then graduated from Indiana University and later earned a MA from St. Mary of the Woods College. She was employed by the University of Illinois Extension as a Community and Economic Development Educator. She spent much time in classrooms leading students in areas such as workplace development, etiquette, soft-skills training, and was able to develop a curriculum to be used statewide, dealing with dreams in the context of life goal setting for youth. She became known in local schools as the “candy lady” for her use of sweets as a reward for participation in her workshops. Programs she developed continue in schools today because of people who are supportive of the values in her ideas. She loved to teach the Real Colors system for identifying personality types and teaching how to use this information to work with each group more effectively. She was a strong blue color herself, which signifies someone who puts a high value on identifying others needs and serving them. She showed her “blueness” by serving or advising boards and leading many local non-profit organizations. She was the Community Service Award Winner given by the Marshall Chamber of Commerce in 2024. Another highlight in her career was being asked to teach a capstone course in Leadership Development at the University of Illinois, sharing her hands-on experience. She continued to hear from her students many years after. She was devoted to her family, friends, students and fellow dreamers, making the world a better place one conversation at a time. She touched so many lives, living in a way that embodied her deep Spirituality and connection with the Universe and our Creator. We could talk about her virtues for hours. We were lucky to know her. Tiffany’s Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 8th beginning at 1:00 pm CDT at Sassafras Ridge in Marshall, IL. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Area Youth Network, the Marshall Schools Foundation or to the Marshall Cancer Support Fund.
