Vera D. Raisner, 89, of Marshall, IL entered the Gates of Heaven surrounded by her family at 2:10 AM Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Regional Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. She was born January 21, 1925 in Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Fred and Esther Schaefer Strohm. She was married to Cleo M. Raisner on Sept. 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1994. She later married Fred Stuck who preceded her in death in May of 2006. Surviving are her children, Lorraine Sue (Mel) Howell of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Stan (Cheryl) Raisner of Marshall, IL and Sally (Jim ) Davidson of West Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Reggie Raisner, Nathan (Katie) Raisner, Marty (Tiffany) Marrs, Sarah (Jack) Steiner and Emily (Matthew) Mundell; great grandchildren, Will, Keith, Kaleb, Kylie, Madison, Allie, Colton and one on the way ; a sister, June Cannady of Marshall; a brother, Warren (Ann) Strohm of Marshall; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Wanda Sweet. She was a lifelong member of the Marshall Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening, working in her flower beds, cooking and walking. Vera lived for her family and was always willing to do and spend time with all of them. Services in honor of her life will be 11:00 AM CST Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be beside her first husband and father of her children, Cleo, at Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday and 7:00 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
