Vernard (Frank) Franklin Farris Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. He lived a full and generous life in Terre Haute, IN, Yorktown, VA, and most recently Fort Lauderdale, FL.Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Vernard and Helen Farris, his brother Danny Farris, and his sister Cheryl Farris. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Farris; his son Matthew Farris and daughter-in-law Roseanna Farris; his daughters Rella Farris and son-in-law Shawn Allen, and Mary Farris, and his stepson's Michael Wood and Matthew Wood and daughter-in-law Candace Connors; as well as his beloved grandchildren Dylan Girvin, Mason Girvin, Ashley Farris, and Victoria Farris. Frank was a proud graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and Thomas Nelson Community College. He dedicated 31 years of service to Anheuser Busch, where his hard work and dedication left a lasting impression. A veteran of the United States Army, he faithfully served his country, including during the Vietnam War. Beyond his career, Frank was a man devoted to his community and family. He served as a deacon at Hilton Baptist Church, guided youth as a basketball coach and Cub Scout leader, and lived each day with selflessness, compassion, and generosity. In his free time, he found joy in gardening, fishing, traveling, birds and spending time with his family—especially his wife, who was the light of his life. He also cherished time with his many friends, often sharing laughter and stories during happy hour. A graveside service will be held in his honor at the Farris Cemetery in Wabash Township, IL, on September 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life so richly lived.
