Virginia Ann Miller Deisher passed away Friday evening in Cumberland County, Illinois on August 18, 2023 with her family at her side. She was born October 24, 1947 to Herschel and Frances Elliott Miller. She worked at WAAC and Winslow Scales in Terre Haute, Indiana till her daughter started school. She then worked as a Marshall Jr. High school secretary. She changed jobs one last time to Velsicol Chemical Corp. She dedicated 15 years of service till an automobile accident in May of 1988 caused her to have a disability. Virginia was a talented artist. She decorated cakes for weddings, birthdays or any other special occasion. She also liked to paint, making Christmas ornaments, Christmas stockings, and ceramics. She was a perfectionist and loved to share her items she made with family and friends. She liked to collect antiques and attend auctions. She was a collector of many items such as cookbooks, paperweights, and Christmas items. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved her 10 ft. Christmas tree and took pride in decorating it top to bottom and all around. She would put up several Christmas trees. Elvis was her favorite singer. She felt Elvis was the best musician and actor of all time. She was a sports fan of the Colts, Larry Bird, Payton Manning, Marshall Lions. Looked forward to the Clark County Superbow. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Brent Gardner; grandchildren, Brian and Sarah Gardner, Andrea and Justin Ashton and Leana and Jacob Dispennett ; three great grandchildren and additional great grandchild arriving in December. She is also survived by her brother Dale Miller and nephew Troy Miller and wife Annisa; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Brenda Miller; niece Marcia and Mike Travioli and nephew Cary and Brandy Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Patricia Miller. Visitation for Virginia will be 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday, August 26th at Pearce Funeral Home with a service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it is requested memorial contributions be given to Marshall Senior Meals, Transplant House of Cleveland, Gale Towles Mission Work or to the organization of the donor’s choice.
