Wayne S. Sweitzer, 89, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 in Paris Healthcare Center at Paris, IL. He was a retired farmer and had been a DeKalb Seed Corn salesman for many years. Wayne was born Nov. 8, 1929 in Clark Co., IL, the son of Glen A. and Velva Spencer Sweitzer. He married Norma Ramsey on March 20, 1954 at the Bethesda Church at West Terre Haute, IN. Surviving are his wife, Norma: children, Kent Sweitzer, Larry Sweitzer and Teresa (Travis) Speros all of Marshall; grandchildren, Andy (Bethany) Sweitzer, Christopher (Brittany) Sweitzer and Matt (Shelby) Sweitzer; a great grandchild and a sister, Wanda Wallace of Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Dick Wallace and Jack Porter and a sister-in-law, Shirley Porter. He was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church and had served on many committees of the church. He had served on the Wabash Twp. Election Board and served this nation in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. Services in honor of his life will be 2:00 PM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Penn officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 Noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.
