William E. Rhoads Sr., 81, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:58 AM Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Springhill Village at Terre Haute, IN. He was a retired farmer. He had also been previously employed by CF Industries at Terre Haute for 18 years, Trailmobile at Charleston, IL for 14 years and after retiring was employed at Mill Creek Park for 4 years. Bill was born Sept. 27, 1936 in rural Marshall, the son of Norman and Pauline Beauchamp Rhoads who preceded him in death as well as his step mother, Ettsyell Rhoads. He married Patricia Monk on July 7, 1961 at Marshall. Surviving are his wife, Pat; three children, Bill (Lori) Rhoads Jr., Mike (Dee Dee) Rhoads and Jeanenna (Roy Sanders) Rhoads all of Marshall; grandchildren, Will (Katelyn) Rhoads III, Brandi Rhoads, Brittany Poston, Ryan Hefner, Dalton Hefner, Connor Hefner, Kelsie Rhoads, Emma Sanders and Macey Sanders; a great grandchild, Brynleigh Poston and three brothers, Robert Rhoads of Marshall, Dale (Judy) Rhoads of Ramsey, IL and Ray Rhoads of Champaign, IL. He was a member and served on the board at Bell Ridge Christian Church. He was also a member of Marshall Lodge #133 AF & AM for over 50 years where he served as Master in 2006; the White Shrine, Half-Fast Square Dance Club, lifetime member of Clark County Historical Society and was a leader of the Pikes Peak 4-H Club for 15 years. Bill served this nation in the US Air Force and was a member of Clark Co. Post #90 American Legion, AMVETS and 40 & 8. Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home with Brother Kurt Speece officiating. Burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery with military graveside rites.
