William Robert Lashbrook, 91, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:07 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis, IN.
He farmed almost all of his life in Clark Co., IL. He first started farming with horses and witnessed all the changes in farming throughout those years and purchased his very last tractor at the age of 90. Bob was born July 10, 1924 in Coles Co., IL, the son of Russell Otis and Alma Dhue Lashbrook. He married Dorothy M. Weaver on Feb. 7, 1944 at Marshall and she preceded him in death on Dec. 1, 2014.
Surviving are his children, Sharon Kay (Nick) Pearson of Greencastle, IN, Barbara (Forest) Felling of Holladay, UT, Robert Lashbrook of Marshall and Nancy (Vern) Nicholson of Marshall; his grandchildren, Tom (Josmary) Pearson, Paul (Megan) Pearson, Mark (Lynn) Pearson, Peter (Tiffany) Pearson, Mitchell (Sharon) Felling, Quentin Lashbrook, Sean Lashbrook, Jason Lashbrook, Amanda (Kevin) Schipp and Alison (Chad) Weber; 30 great grandchildren; a sister, Pat Williams of Martinsville; a brother-in-law, Hobie Glosser of Casey, IL; a brother-in-law, Bob (Sally) Weaver of Marshall and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, James and Jane Lashbrook; a brother, Daniel Lashbrook; three sisters Grace Lashbrook, Beverly Hayhurst and Alma Alice Glosser and a brother-in-law, Leon Williams.
He was a faithful and devoted member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years and had served as a trustee for many years. He had served as a trustee for Auburn Township and had served as secretary treasurer of the Mill Creek Conservancy District since 1961.
Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be beside his wife in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday and prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
