Wilma R. Low, 86, of Texarkana, TX, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away 5:41 PM Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at the residence of her daughter at Texarkana, TX.
She was a retired registered nurse having worked at Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN, Burnsides Nursing Home at Marshall, IL and Westminster Village at Terre Haute, IN. Wilma was born July 23, 1929 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Edwin Kupferer and Charlotte Schulmeyer Kupferer. She married Kenneth Low on Oct. 22, 1950 at Terre Haute, IN and he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2008.
Surviving are her children, Dennis Low of Oklahoma City, OK, Betsy (Rick) Jerman of Pueblo, CO and Barbara (David) Brown of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, D.J. Low, Heidi Saunders, Jill Woolley, Matthew Jerman, Maggie Jerman and McKenna Jerman; step grandchildren, Jon Brown, Joey Brown, Jenna Brown and Jennifer Martin; nine great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Hilda Jones. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Low; a grandson, Cory Low and a brother-in-law, Max Jones.
She was a member of the Marshall First United Methodist Church, the Women's Circle of the church and sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of OES Chapter #739 of Marshall and was an avid bowler. She was a graduate of the Indiana State University School of Nursing.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Marshall Cemetery with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall. Family and friends are invited to meet at Pearce Funeral Home prior to the graveside service for procession to the cemetery.
