Winona R. Burnam, 100, of West Union, IL passed away 9:50 PM Sunday, May 14, 2017 in the Burnsides Community Care Center at Marshall. She was born Sept. 3, 1916, the daughter of Albert Kile and Gertie Johnson Kile. She married Orval Eugene Burnam and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1970. Surviving are her siblings, George Kile of Annapolis, IL, Mary Lou Laird of Marshall, IL, Eliza Nell Arbuckle of Marshall, IL, Henry Kile of Columbus, GA, Nina Shipman of Lexington, KY and Albert Jr. Kile of Danville, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by siblings, William Kile, Wilbur Kile, Bertha Jackson and Bert Kile. Winona had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 70 years. Most of her time of membership was with O.E.S. Chapter #776 of West Union and later with O.E.S. Chapter #739 of Marshall. During her time she had served in the capacity of Matron in 1952 and, secretary and was a member of the Past Matrons Club. She had also formerly been a member of the Thursday Afternoon Club, J M Club of which she had served as secretary for many years and the Clark Co. Republican Women’s Club. Services in honor of her life will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday with an O.E.S. Memorial Service at 7:00 PM.
