Betty Joan Tingley Rader, 88, of Marshall, IL passed away 3:53 PM Thursday, Dec. 1, 2015 in the Burnsides Community Care Center at Marshall.
Prior to her retirement, she was a reading teacher in the Martinsville, IL School District and after retiring she continued to teach reading to anyone she could help. She was born Dec. 22, 1926 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Russell and Laura Partlow Junker. In 1944, she married Wayne Tingley at Ft. Smith, Arkansas and he preceded her in death in 1995. She later married Paul Rader.
Surviving are her husband, Paul Rader: seven children, Scott Wayne Tingley, Brad (Denise) Tingley, Elaine (Frank) McEachran and Laurie (Paul) Hoggatt all of Marshall, Joyce (Brent) Owen and Marilyn (Jeff) Sweet of Robinson, IL and Charlene Athey of Casey, IL; a sister, Jan (Tom) Jones of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Sanders of Austin, TX, Jason McEachran of St. Louis, MO, Andrew (Andrea) Owen of Peachtree City, GA, Angie (Shawn) Harmon of Fishers, IN, Brandon Trueblood of Bloomington, IL, Ryan Trueblood of Robinson, IL, Keith (Denise) Hoggatt of Marshall, IL, Kim Irvine of Marshall, IL, Kody Hoggatt of Marshall, IL, Mary Tingley of Marshall, IL, Shay Athey of Champaign, IL, Emily Tingley of Marshall, IL and Dustin Stepp of Marshall, IL and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Riley Volk of Casey, IL Betty was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church.
Services in honor of her life will be 1:00 PM Sunday at the Zion United Methodist Church, rural Marshall, IL, with Rev. Michael Wooton officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church
