Carl F. “Bud” Bender, 96, of Marshall, IL, formerly of Dennison, IL passed away 7:10 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2021 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. Carl had been employed as a mechanic by various Ford dealerships in Terre Haute. He was born June 18, 1924 at Marshall, IL, the son of Fred and Anna Timmerman Bender. He was last of 13 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Bender. On April 11, 1944 he married Violet Louise Turner in Texas and she preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2007. Surviving are two children, Larry (Mary Jane) Bender of Marshall and Judy (Roger) Pole of North Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Kelly (Josh) Livvix of Marshall and Kyle (Julie) Bender of Marshall; step-grandchildren, Mary Brown, Mark Barr, Pat Barr and David Barr; great grandchildren, Cole Livvix, Calvin Livvix, Brooklyn Bender and Coy Bender; three step great grandchildren; six step great great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Joan Turner. He was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school for many years and served on various committees of the church as well as the Dunlap Cemetery Board. Bud served this nation in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WW II. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 5 at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post #5975 and Clark County Post #90 of the American Legion. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
