Carolyn Louise (Kosko) Hollingsworth, 80, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away at 8:25 PM Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at Casey Healthcare where they took great care of her from Sept. to Feb., as if she was family. Prior to Sept., Carolyn spent a year at the Villas of Holly Brook in Marshall, IL where she was surrounded by many whom loved and cared for her. Carolyn suffered the last eight years from Dementia, a debilitating disease which changes your life forever. She was born on Dec. 11, 1942 in Terre Haute, IN. She was the daughter of Maxine (Smith) Kirby and Louis Joseph Kosko. She was married to Jackie Lee Hollingsworth for 47 years before he passed away in December of 2012. Survivors include her three daughters, Tina Hollingsworth-Veach, Cheryl Sanders (Denny) of Martinsville, IL and Sandy Turner of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Amber Baird (Tony), Travis Hollingsworth (Patty), Christina Higginbotham (Philip), DJ Sanders (Amara), Tanner Glidewell, Taylor Hollingsworth, Cole, Cody, and Kyle Turner; great grandchildren, Ryland, Emmalyn, Jacksyn, Kayden, Coltyn, and Brooklyn Baird, Jack, Ellie, and Thea Hollingsworth, Mason Evens, Allie, Brady, & Kinzie Higginbotham, Mila and Asher Sanders, and Emma Glidewell; sisters, Connie Kosko and Rosanne Dishon (Chuck) of Terre Haute; sister-in-law Sherry Hollingsworth of Newton, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers Ronald and Gerald Kosko who she missed and talked about often. Other family members John & Dru Hollingsworth & Larry “Buck” Hollingsworth and Rosie Hardway. Through the years she worked at the Hen House, Tom’s Café and Coil Sales. Most of her years were spent as a homemaker. She enjoyed all sorts of crafts, puzzles and made numerous afghans for people throughout the years. She enjoyed watching the kids play, spending time drinking coffee with friends, playing Bingo and sometimes a little gambling. Carolyn was a member of the Martinsville First Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. Carolyn and Jack cleaned the church for many years. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, Feb. 17, 2023 at the Martinsville Baptist Church with Brother Art Orndorff officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held 12 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral at the Martinsville First Baptist Church, 5 Trotter Lane, Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations in Carolyn’s honor may be made to Casey Healthcare, 100 NE 15th St., Casey, IL 62420 to be used for new TV’s in the rooms or games and crafts for the residents or Villas of Hollybrook, 1705 N.
