Cheryl Lynn Dawson, 59, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Marshall, IL and West Union, IL passed away Monday evening in the emergency room at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center at Mattoon, IL.

She was born Sept. 2, 1955 at Carlinville, IL, the daughter of Rev. Darrell Warren Dawson and Shirley Evans Dawson. Surviving are her mother, Shirley, of Marshall, IL; her siblings, Linda Kennedy of Springfield, IL, Terry (Diana) Dawson of Greenwood, IN, Diana (Kevin) Whalen of Gridley, IL, Scott (Jill) Dawson of Hudson, WS and Rick Dawson of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church and was a 1974 graduate of Hutsonville High School. Cheryl loved to play bingo and loved the color of pink and her jewelry. The primary love of her life was her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.

Services in honor of her life will be 12 Noon Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Marshall Baptist Church, 306 Archer Ave., Marshall, IL with Bro. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Tuesday.
