Clifford A. Edington, 82, of Marshall, IL passed away 5:05 AM Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Marshall Nursing and Rehablitation. In 1962 in became the owner of the Gulf Station located at Route 40 and Route One at Marshall. He later became involved in providing a successful towing service in the Marshall area. The towing service has expanded to locations also being in Terre Haute and Brazil, IN. Cliff was born Nov. 6, 1936 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Orla and Mae Menges Edington. At the age of 6 months his parents moved to the Casey, IL area and Cliff resided there until he moved to Marshall. Surviving are two sons, Kim (Brenda) Edington and Scott Comer both of Marshall; a daughter, Susie Robinson and her companion, Marty Doherty of Marshall; three grandchildren, Zac Edington, Lee (Erica) Edington and Natasha (Nate )Pence; great grandchildren, Ellison Edington and Nolan Edington and a sister, Vera McCarty of Rantoul, IL. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Comer and his siblings, Ernest, Verla and Irma. He proudly served this nation in the United States Army. Services in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post #5975 and Clark co. Post #90. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday.
