Dale E. Robinson Sr., 86, of Marshall, Illinois, formerly of West Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home.Dale was born on July 17, 1939, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of William E. Robinson and Wanda G. Green Robinson. On November 6, 1969, he married Phyllis Sutton in West Terre Haute, Indiana, and she survives.Also surviving are two children, Dale (Carmen) Robinson Jr. of San Diego, California, and Melissa (Michael) Fields of West Terre Haute, Indiana; grandchildren, Gabriella (Michael) Sullivan of Edgewood, Kentucky, Antonio Laboy of Winter Park, Florida, Shannon Robinson of Sunnyvale, California, Nathan Robinson of San Diego, California, and Claire Robinson of San Diego, California; and two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Addison Sullivan.In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen “Skeet” Robinson and Donald Ray Robinson.Dale was a faithful member of Armstrong United Methodist Church. He was very proud of his service to his country, having joined the National Guard at the age of 15 and later enlisting in the United States Navy at age 18, where he served aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid. He retired from the Wabash River Generator Station.Dale loved repairing things and caring for his property. He also enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching Westerns, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.Services honoring Dale’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, December 27, at Armstrong United Methodist Church, 18500 N. Armstrong RD, Marshall, IL 62441. Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Armstrong United Methodist Church.
