Dale Gerald Siverly was born in West Terre Haute, IN to Sanley and Luceil McClasky Siverly on August 23, 1927. He passed away on November 28, 2019 at Marshall, IL. His family moved to Clark County when he was very young. He spent his entire life in the Marshall area, most of it on Fox Road. Dale attended grade school in the one room Siverly School and was a 1945 graduate of Marshall High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Following his honorable discharge from the army he returned to Marshall and married Virginia Bartley on June 16, 1950.He worked as a truck driver for Kraft Foods and later worked the rest of his working days for the Marshall Co-Op and Effingham Equity, retiring in 1989 where his nickname was “Curly”. Dale and his wife spent their entire lives in the church. For many years they were a part of the Church of the Nazarene in Marshall and later at West Union. He served as a Sunday School teacher, a Trustee, Church Treasure as well as a general helper for anything that needed done. He was faithful to the church until declining health forced him into assisted living. In addition to his wife, He is survived by two sons, Gene (Alice) Siverly of Mt. Carmel, IL and Keith (Barb) Siverly of Marshall, IL; a daughter, Mary Ann (Randy) Ferris of Columbia, SC. He also raised his youngest sister-in-law. Vicki (Charles) Bartley Cash; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; brothers, Norman Siverly of Marshall, twin brothers, Jerry Siverly of Terre Haute, IN and Gerry Siverly of Brazil, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Rob Pitts and brothers, Robert and Larry. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Clark Co. Post #90 and VFW Post #5975 of which he was a member. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday.
