Daniel Paul Davidson, 76, of Marshall, IL passed away on Feb. 15, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy English Davidson; two children, Robert Davidson and his wife Julie of Marshall and Suzanne Veltri and husband John of Clarksville, TX; eight grandchildren, Michael, Andrew and Sydney Davidson and Vince, Dominick, Luke, Alicia and Lauren Veltri and two great grandchildren.
Born October 28, 1939 in Terre Haute, IN to Robert William Davidson and Eleanor Murray Davidson, he graduated from Marshall High School in 1957 and joined the Army, completing his basic training at Fort Polk, LA. He then attended postal school in Indianapolis before being sent to West Berlin, Germany to finish his military service. In 1960 he began working for the USPS during which time he spent most of those years as a city carrier in Marshall, retiring in 1992.
Danny was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post #90 and VFW Post #5975. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshall with Father David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Shelter Care, 207 S.
