David L. Chapman, 49, of West Union, IL passed away 2:28 AM Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN.

He served in the US Marines from 1984 to 1993. In 1993 he became employed by Ellis Electric and in 1999 became employed at the Robinson Correctional Center. David was born June 9, 1966 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Warren Chapman and Wilma Jean Miller Chapman.

Surviving are his children, Jessica Smith, Tori Chapman, Jerry Chapman and Stephanie Chapman all of West Union, IL; grandchildren, Keyleigh Smith, Kendall Smith, Zoey Kilmer and Aiden Kilmer; three sisters, Karen (Tuffy) Ellis of Marshall, IL, Brenda (Tom) Booth of West Union, IL and Debbie (Ed) McClellan of Montrose, IL and one nephew and several nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karleigh and a nephew, Kyle Ellis.

He was a member of the West Union Christian Church and was a 1984 graduate of Hutsonville High School. He enjoyed riding motor cross and playing with his grandchildren.

Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the West Union First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded by West Union American Legion Post #1130. Visitation will be 4-7 Pm Monday and 8:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the church.
