Dennis K. Keefer, 71, of Marshall, IL passed away 7:30 AM Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN with his wife of 51 years by his side. He was a retired business manager for the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. He was a 1966 graduate of Marshall High School and received his Bachelors in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University. Dennis was born Dec. 31, 1948 at Mapleton, OR, the son of Wendell and Earline Shonk Keefer. He married Faye Douglas on Nov. 29, 1968 at Marshall, IL. Surviving are his wife, Faye; two sons, Ross Keefer of Paris, IL and Jason Keefer of Marshall, IL ; a brother, Jerry Keefer of Marshall and a very special friend, Bill Duke of Paris, IL who gave one of his kidneys in 2001 to Dennis . He was preceded in death by three brothers, Don Keefer, Phil Keefer and Gary Keefer and two half brothers, Ben Rowe and Bob Rowe. He was a member of the Community Bible Church of Paris. He had previously pastored church’s at Kingman and Cates, IN and two local, Asbury United Methodist Church and Oliver United Methodist church’s. Dennis served this nation in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Monday, Jan. 20th at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastors David Laborde and Bill Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Forsythe Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Bible Church.
