Donald R. Stanfield, 74, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:30 AM Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 in Providence Health Care Center at St. Mary's of the Woods, IN.
A salesman since the age of 14, he was formerly the owner and operator of Stanfield, Motors in both Marshall and Robinson, Illinois. He had also served as a Small Business Administration Disaster Verifier for the US Govt.
Don was born May 30, 1940 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Percy Stanfield and Thelma Litteral Stanfield. Surviving are his wife, Merle Fash Stanfield, twin daughters, Karla Strohm of Carmel, IN and Kimberly (Allen) Sang of Lake Mary, FL; a step son, Mike Claypool of Marshall, IL; a step daughter, Melissa (Dennis)Milbourn of Marshall, IL; four grandchildren, Morgan Strohm, Carson Strohm, Kaylie Sang and Ali Sang; six step grandchildren, Morgan Claypool, Zachary Claypool, Logan Claypool, Will (Ali) Milbourn, Maren Milbourn and Joshua Milbourn; a step great grandchild, Liam Milbourn and two sisters, Carol Halloran of Marshall, IL and Patricia (Paul) Tingley of Martinsville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step son, Brian Claypool. He was a 50 year member of West Union Masonic Lodge.
He was a member of the Teamsters, a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School and received his Bachelors in Business at Indiana State University.
Services in honor of his life will be 7:00 PM Monday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Donaldson officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until service time Monday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Me Clifford.
