Donald R. Robinson, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:44 PM Monday, August 11, 2025 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care at Terre Haute, IN. Don was born Nov. 18, 1943 at West Terre Haute, IN, the son of William E. Robinson and Wanda G. Green Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Robinson and Glen Robinson; a brother-in-law, John Page; two sisters-in-law, Linda Stevenson and Sharon Dowling and a step-father, Harold Herring. Surviving are his wife Janet C. Shields Robinson who he married Nov. 24, 1963 at Vincennes, IN; two daughters, Michele (Larry) Johnson and Donette Maynard; grandchildren, Kyle (Emily) Johnson, Kaleb (Jessica) Johnson, Logan (Hanna) Maynard, Trevor Maynard, Maddie Maynard; great grandchildren, Ava Johnson, Karsyn Johnson, Finley Johnson, Harper Johnson, Kade Johnson and Jaxx Maynard ; a brother, Dale (Phyllis) Robinson; a sister-in-law, Carol Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. Don was always one who worked. He had formerly been employed at Visqueen, had been the proprietor of a Shell station in Terre Haute, was an over-the-road truck driver and had worked for Mechanical Suppliers in Terre Haute. He loved the old country music, Gunsmoke, horses and his cowboy boots. He was a cowboy at heart. For many years he and Janet spent time vacationing in Florida during the winter and he always enjoyed working around the home. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home and 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday. A service in honor of his life will be 11:00 AM Friday also at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastor Ester Inuwa officiating. ALL SERVICE TIMES ARE CENTRAL TIME.
