Doris A. Hopper, 71, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:58 PM Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care at Terre Haute, IN. On Feb. 19, 1953 at Danville, IL she was born the daughter of Charles White Jr. and Madge Geraldine Fogerson White. She married Gene Hopper on May 12, 1995 at Danville, IL and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kara (Rob) Root of Asheboro, NC and Kristy (Jeff) Bateson of Colfax, NC; grandchildren, Kaylee, Caiden, Halena and Neala; siblings, Sharon Farris, Charlotte Lange and David White; nieces and nephew, Darcey (Jake) Deffenbaugh, Britta (John) Baker, Amanda (Josh) Drake and Joel (Hoa) Farris and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Doris was a graduate of Young America High School and received an associate’s degree at Danville Community Jr. College. In her younger years she played softball and bowled. Dorie always felt that family came first. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to visit family, visit friends, and vacation. She loved spending time with and making memories with her family. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sunday, Jan. 26th and 10-11 AM Monday, Jan. 27th at Pearce Funeral Home. A service in honor of her life will be 11:00 AM Monday, Jan. 27th at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Bret Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Hoult Cemetery, rural Edgar Co., IL.
