Douglas Leitch (55) was born in Terre Haute Indiana on November 29, 1970 to Harold and Gwen Stuck Leitch. He passed away July 10,2026 in the emergency room of Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. Even in birth Doug did things on his own terms by arriving a few hours after his grandma had stayed all week on baby watch and headed home. He was the baby of the family and this was a distinction that brought him great pride. Doug was always all boy and grew up on the family farm, riding bikes, motorcycles and playing in the haymow. He could tear apart anything mechanical and get it working or modified. He graduated from Marshall High School and then attended Ivy Tech, earning a degree in automotive mechanics. For years he was employed as a mechanic and later moved into the manufacturing world. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at NAL in Paris. Doug was a respected member of that team and they work they performed. Doug was a loyal friend to many and most were lifelong friends he had made while growing up or from school and work. Doug was a Chevy man who enjoyed old trucks, fast cars and attending car shows. The long-time owner of a 67 Chevy short bed. Travel was a favorite past time and trips with various family members to the mountains and National parks were some of Doug’s favorite memories. Most recently, part of the family traveled to Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore and the Grand Tetons, which was a bucket list item. While there, Doug went fly fishing with his dad’s antique fishing pole. He liked to say that him and Harold went fishing together. Doug’s passing was a shock, and he left us way too soon. Friends can live life to honor Doug by bragging about growing tomatoes and cucumbers, drinking a Mountain Dew, taking a country cruise or throwing a line in the water.Doug is survived by his mother, Gwen and spouse, Angel Martin. Siblings Cathy Macke (Loren), Stephanie Emanus (Rick), Barry (Debbie), and Tim…all of Marshall. Three children, Erica Cheesman, Kelsey Leitch (Jordan) and Nathaniel (Jami), stepdaughter Samantha, along with grandchildren, Haley, Jaylee, Kynslee, Jaiden, Grayson, and Maddie.
