Elizabeth Louise Lechner Bormann, 89, of Marshall, IL passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Marshall Rehabilitation & Nursing. She was born August 19, 1935 in Jasper, IN to Silas Lechner and Theresia Hopf Lechner. She was known as Betty Lou. She entered the Sisters of Providence as Novitiate January 6, 1953. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from St. Mary-of-the Woods College. Elizabeth taught at various schools in Chicago from 1956 to 1973. Elizabeth received a dispensation from the Pope to return to civilian life June 1973. She served as teacher, lecturer, consultant, therapist and minister for over 50 years. She was an active volunteer at the Sisters of Providence after retirement. She married Kenny Bormann on November 18, 1983 and he survives. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday at the Church Of The Immaculate Conception at St. Mary-of-the-Woods. Visitation will be one-hour prior services at the church.
