Estol Dean Callahan, 86, of Dennison, IL, formerly of Marshall, IL passed away 11:55 AM Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at the home of his daughter, Rose.
He was born April 20, 1928 in Jasper County, IL, the son of Lora "Buck" Callahan and Treva Marie Meyers Callahan. He married Evelyn Ramona "Jackie" Button on April 12, 1947 at Greenup, IL and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2009.
Surviving are three daughters, Catherine (Jim) Springer of Shelbyville, IN, Pamela Warner of Marshall, IL and Rose (Dick) Herrington of Dennison, IL; grandchildren, Christina (Jerry) Daniken, J.J. Snedeker, Brad (Polly) Warner, Amy (Aaron) Patterson, Chad (Dana) Warner, Matt (Stacey) Herrington, Becky (Steve) Gemoules, Rhett (Melissa) Herrington and Rome(Chasity) Herrington; great grandchildren, Jacob Daniken, Jessica Daniken, Lucas Daniken, Chase Warner, Sydney, Patterson, Aidan Patterson, Josiah Patterson, Cade Warner, Ally Garcia, Katelyn Herrington, Dylan Herrington, Douglas Sherrill, Devon Sherrill, Steven Gemoules, Bella Herrington, Lucas Herrington, Elyse Riggs and Karissa Herrington and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Callahan and a step mother, Alverta Callahan.
Dean had the reputation of a great car salesman. He had built and remodeled many houses in Clark County and had a love for horses. He was a member of Marshall Lodge #133 AF and AM.
Masonic services will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday with services honoring his life with Rev. Krista Price officiating immediately following. Visitation will be 1:30 PM until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Back Pack Project or to Rescue Me Clifford.
