Max Thompson, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born August 25, 1944 in Clark County, IL, the son of Jack Thompson and Gladys Higginbotham Thompson who preceded him in death as well as his son, Corey; two sisters, Louise Garver and Dorothy Riggs and the man who raised him, Bill Garver. Surviving are his wife, Dianna Beltz Thompson; his children, Eric (Jennifer Shumaker) Thompson, Darren (Pam) Thompson, Tacoma (Rex Hain) Thompson, Shane (Ena) Thompson and Haley (Justin Flowers) Thompson; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He had formerly worked at TRW and Coil Sales and was a graduate of Marshall High School. Visitation for he and his son, Corey, will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 21st at Pearce Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
