Forest Wayne Felling, 78, of Holladay, UT, formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021. Forest was born August 15, 1942 in Terre Haute to Forest Junior Felling and Vera Maxine Felling (Sterchi). Forest is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Felling (Lashbrook), daughter Kirsten Joe Hewitt and her husband Marc of Michigan; son Forest Mitchell Felling II and his wife Sharon Felling (Losee) of Utah; grandchildren Madeline (Callin), Indy, Emma, William, Alexander, Isabelle, Sage and Carmen; great-grandchildren Eva and Clifford. Forest was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy, who died as a baby. Forest engaged in a wide variety of activities in his professional life including ministry, computer operations, retail management, farming and sales. From the mid 1980’s until the early 2000’s he and Barbara operated a direct mail, page layout and copy firm, Country Computing, in Terre Haute. When most his age were planning retirement, Forest returned to school and completed a masters degree in education, and then worked in St. Louis, Missouri, Las Vegas, Nevada, Salem, Utah and finally Midvale, Utah as a teacher of elementary and middle school children. Health issues forced his retirement from teaching in 2010. Forest faced a long battle with dementia in the twilight of his life. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 28th in Marshall Cemetery at Marshall, IL.
