Garnett Mae (Ridgway) Evola, 69, of Marshall passed away at 12:10 PM Wednesday November 20, 2013 at Burnsides Community Health Center in Marshall. She was born November 14, 1944 in Paris, IL., the daughter of Kermit Ridgway and Irene (Barth) Ridgway. She married Gerald Robert Evola on June 10, 1967 at Oliver, IL and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2009. She retired from teaching English at Marshall High School in 2004. She was a member of the Oliver United Methodist Church. She graduated from Paris High School in 1962 and received a bachelor's and a master's degree from Indiana State University where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Surviving are two sons, Robert (Amanda)Evola of Brighton, IL and Aaron (Jennifer) Evola of Dennison, IL., two grandchildren, Audrey Evola and Wyatt Evola, and her brother, Dale (Janice) Ridgway of Marshall, IL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Services honoring her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday November 23, 2013 at the Oliver United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Duke and Rev. Joe Irwin Officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday November 22, 2013 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall and one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday.
